1. Raw material preparation
The raw materials for welded pipes are mainly steel plates or strips, which need to undergo surface treatment such as rust removal and oxide scale removal to ensure quality
2. Forming
Bend steel plates or strips into tubes with straight or spiral seams using forming equipment. The forming methods include spiral forming, roller forming, row roller forming, and press forming.
Straight seam welded pipes are formed by curling steel strips into a cylindrical shape, while spiral welded pipes are formed by shaping steel strips into a spiral shape at a certain angle.
3. Welding
High frequency resistance welding: used for straight seam welded pipes, heating and extruding the edge of the pipe blank through high-frequency current to form a firm weld seam.
Submerged arc welding: used for spiral welded pipes, during the welding process, the flux covers the weld seam, and the arc burns under the flux layer to form a high-quality weld seam.
Other welding methods include power frequency resistance welding, induction welding, flash welding, etc., which are suitable for production needs of different pipe diameters and wall thicknesses.
4. Finishing
Remove weld burrs: After welding is completed, remove burrs inside and outside the weld to improve the internal and external smoothness of the pipeline.
Heat treatment: eliminate stress generated during welding process and improve the mechanical properties of pipes.
Dimensional correction: Welded pipes may deform after cooling and need to be corrected to ensure the roundness and straightness of the pipe.
Hydrostatic testing and coating: to test the sealing and pressure bearing capacity of welded pipes. Coating can enhance corrosion resistance and service life.
5. Quality inspection
Multiple quality inspections are required during the production process, including raw material inspection, weld quality inspection, and finished pipe quality inspection, to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
6. Packaging and Shipping
Qualified welded pipes need to be packaged to prevent damage during transportation and storage, and ultimately transported to the customer's designated location.
The production process of welded pipes is simple, efficient, and has a wide variety of specifications, which are widely used in fields such as construction, machinery, and automobiles.
